In The Mood For Colour
Hi there, I'm excited to share with you my process in creating the card above. After watching In The Mood For Colour class from Altenew, I was inspired to create a card with a colour that has the ability to influence our moods. I chose the colour purple for my theme, and with the help of the beautiful Golden Strokes washi tape from Altenew, I was able to create a card that brings out what I wanted to achieve. A sense of wealth, royalty and luxury. I received this Painted Bloom stamp set as a gift from Altenew, and it's pretty simple in real life, but with the right choice of combination colours and arrangement, it can be the star of the show.
First, I stamped the flowers and leaves then fuzzy cut them all. Then I added washi tape alongside my card front. I wanted the flowers to overlap, so I arranged a shape like a pomander flower ball. I adhered the middle flower with foam tape so it would pop against the rest. I also wanted the flowers to shine, so I added a little Wink of Stella, and I found that the Satin White sequins were perfect for this theme. I'm so happy with this sentiment because it allows me to say what I'm feeling. I learnt in class that I can stamp my sentiment with coloured ink to match the scheme of my card, so I applied it. Lastly, I mounted my card front onto an A2 purple portrait card. It worked out wonderfully well.
Altenew Supplies:
Painted Bloom Stamps, Shades Of Purple Ink Set, Crisp Dye Ink (Limestone, Gray Denim, Pure Graphite), Satin White Sequins, Golden Strokes Washi Tape, Misti
Other Supplies:
Purple Cardstock, Glossy Accent, Neenah Solar White Cardstock, Foam Tape, Scissors
I'd like to enter my card into these following challenges:

Beautiful! Your photography is so professional, wish mine was!!
ReplyDeleteHi Liz,
DeleteThanks for your comment! I am quite an amateur photographer. But for the first photo I used a 12x12 pattern paper as my background and the frosted glass coffee table. Then for the rest of the photos I used a portable 45cm LED Light Room Photo Studio Lighting Tent Kit Cube Soft Box. Very long name! You can find it for about 80 AUD on eBay.
This is a beautifully designed card, I am in awe of the flowers !
ReplyDeleteOh so beautiful, Teresa! Such gorgeous flowers! Thanks for joining in at Dream Valley!
