And so the adventure begins

Hi all,

My name is Teresa, and I live in Australia. I enjoy crafts - especially cardmaking and inking. I find beauty in colour combinations and inks. Recently, I have joined the Altenew Educators Programme, which has inspired me to open this blog and share my creations. I am quite a shy person and find such joy in creating cards and crafting.

Lately, I've researched a lot about blogging: and as I am new to this, I hope that you will find my content useful and entertaining. I'm sure my currently fundamental photography skills will improve with time, so bear with me. Up to now, I've found this new journey to be enjoyable but also challenging and hope that, eventually, it will work out well.

It is gratifying to share my creativity with other crafters and learn new techniques through this programme. I have found Altenew's online classes to be very helpful, and I've learnt many new skills, including how to use my materials better. I'm delighted I now have something I love to pass my time and learn new things. I've included a few of my recent projects below; I hope that you will find them interesting.

All about layering 1

For this card, I used the Altenew Painted Poppy Stamps. I chose to stamp a set of 3 because an odd number of details is more effective in capturing your gaze. I started on the white card panel using the outline stamps with Versamark ink, then heat embossed it with silver embossing powder. I then used the Misti to stamp inside the flowers with the Altenew Red Cosmos crisp dye ink. My favourite colour recently has been Frosty Pink as it just gives me great joy to see such a smooth, soft glow on the white cardstock. When I finished stamping the ink, I did not forget to use a soft cloth to wipe away the ink on top of the silver embossing. The silver glitter tape at the bottom is to bind it all together. For the sentiment, I decided to stamp Happy in ombre to add a little interest.

Last, I mounted it with foam tape on a top folding grey card. I love how the flowers are facing the word happy; they're standing tall and blossoming. Stay safe and well everyone. Until next time!!

I'd like to enter my card into these following challenges:

  1. Very pretty, I love this style !

  2. Congrats on your first post! I absolutely LOVE your card. However, I would like you to share more project photos, like maybe a couple more in different angles or a close up shot to show the details of the project. Very well-written post! Beautiful card!
Thank you for entering your work to the AECP assignment gallery. Well done!

  3. So beautiful! I've am in class 17 as well and look forward to seeing all your project cards.

  4. Cute card, I love this image.
Thanks for sharing over at Creations in Pink.
